Application Support & Maintenance
A named team that knows your app: bug fixes, small changes, updates and questions answered, under a monthly retainer with response targets in writing.
- 02
Production Support Services
When the app is broken in production, an engineer who can read the code, logs and infrastructure finds the cause and ships the fix.
- 03
After-Hours Application Support
Coverage for the hours your team is offline. Call 7 PM – 6 AM Central, nationwide; 2-hour minimum, rate quoted on the call.
- 04
Website & Web App Maintenance
Updates, security patches, uptime monitoring, tested backups and small content or feature changes for business websites and web apps.
- 05
Legacy Application Takeover
Your developer or agency is gone and the app still runs the business. We audit it, document it, stabilise it, and take over support.
- 06
Security Patching & Upgrades
Out-of-date frameworks, vulnerable packages and failing scans. We upgrade in safe steps with tests, so patching stops being a project.
- 07
Monitoring & On-Call Setup
Uptime checks, error tracking, alerts that mean something, and runbooks — so the right person hears about a problem before customers do.
When the developer has left
The app still runs the business, but nobody knows how it works. A takeover usually follows this shape.
Legacy takeover details
Everything in writing
No uptime slogans. Each support agreement spells out:
- Monthly engineering hours and how unused hours are handled
- Response targets for urgent and routine requests
- How to reach us: email, phone, and the after-hours line
- What is in scope: code, hosting, third-party services
- A monthly report: what changed, what is at risk, what we recommend
Common questions
How is application support priced?
Ongoing support is a monthly retainer sized to your app. Takeover audits are fixed scope. Incident work outside a retainer is hourly with a 2-hour minimum, quoted on the call.
Do you support apps someone else built?
Yes — that is most of our work. We start by reading the code and the infrastructure before we change anything.
Do you guarantee response times?
Response targets are written into each support agreement. Outside an agreement, the after-hours line is best effort.
Where are you located?
Wells Software Consulting is based in Chicago and supports businesses anywhere in the United States, remotely.
Someone should be watching your app. It can be us.
